Questions

What people usually check before uploading

Can I transcribe Zoom, Teams or Google Meet recordings?

Yes. Export the recording from Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, then upload the file to BriefVox. MP4 and M4A files from those platforms work out of the box.

What audio and video formats can I upload?

BriefVox accepts MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, WebM, OPUS, AAC and most other common audio and video formats. YouTube links work too — just paste the URL.

How accurate is the transcription?

Quality depends on audio clarity, accent and background noise. Clear recordings with a single speaker typically reach 90–95% accuracy. The built-in editor lets you fix errors with synced audio playback.

How long does transcription take?

Most files process in roughly the same time as the recording length. A 30-minute file usually finishes in about 30 minutes. Long files show live progress in the dashboard, and you get an email when the transcript is ready.

Can I use YouTube links?

Yes, if you have the right to process that material. Paste the YouTube URL directly — no download needed. The upload flow records your confirmation.

Can I edit the transcript?

Yes. The editor is synced with audio, so clicking any segment jumps to the exact moment in the recording. You can fix wording, rename speakers and clean up the text without leaving BriefVox.

Can I export subtitles?

Yes. You can export SRT and VTT subtitle files ready for YouTube, video editors and streaming platforms. TXT and DOCX are also available for documents and notes.

Does BriefVox identify real people?

No. BriefVox separates speakers into generic labels such as Speaker 1 and Speaker 2. It does not identify or name real individuals. You can rename labels yourself in the editor.

Do I need a credit card for the Free plan?

No. The free account gives you 10 minutes every month with no card required and no automatic payment. You only pay if you choose a package or subscription.

How do AI Tokens work?

AI Tokens are separate from transcription minutes and are used only for AI Notes, translation and reports. Before any AI action, BriefVox shows the exact token cost so you can confirm before spending.
